Tundish Nozzle Manufacturer: What Steel Plants Should Check

A tundish nozzle manufacturer should be judged on the drawing, not on a slogan. Ask whether the bore, length and outer profile will follow the nozzle already on the caster.

Check three documents. First, the alumina outer body: Al₂O₃ 75%, Fe₂O₃ 1.2%, SiO₂ 15%, bulk density 2.85 g/cm³, apparent porosity 18%, all typical. Second, the insert line printed on the tundish nozzle TDS. Third, if you buy the insert alone, the dedicated zirconia insert specification. Those last two are not the same sheet.

Confirm the bore from the list 10–16.5 mm or send the size you need to replace. For Europe, the United States and Brazil, write the plant country on the enquiry so packing and documents match the shipment.
